We asked Steve, 5 questions to help prospective business owners qualify themselves to join: 

Q. Describe the characteristics of the most successful franchisees in your network.

A. The most successful franchisees are those that operate a clearly defined business and marketing plan, those that follows the TruGreen model, operates the systems (fully utilise the Brand Management System) and are focussed on growth through increasing capacity in the business, and putting additional vans on the road and employing staff.

Q. What skills/attributes do you look for in a franchise partner?

A. A love of practical work and working outdoors, with an attention to detail and a can do attitude, while being prepared to work flexible hours, in managing the seasonality of the franchise.

Q. What personality do you look for in a franchise partner?

A. Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated  person with good communication skills, all essential in operating a successful lawncare business.

Q. What experience is required?

A. An understanding of lawncare is not essential, as full training and continual support is offered to every franchisee, for as long as they operate the franchise, allowing them to become a highly skilled and knowledgeable  business owner and operator.

Q. What is a ‘red flag’ for joining your brand?

A. A person that is not looking to operate a practically based franchise, a person that is a poor communicator, or a person that is looking to buy a job not grow a business.
