Integrity in Action
By Ben Stacey VFP Brand Leader, TruGreen Professional Lawn Care UK
Integrity is one of those words that’s easy to say, but far harder to live by. It’s often used as a slogan or statement of intent, but absolute integrity only shows when no one’s watching.
Over the years, I’ve learned that integrity isn’t just about honesty. It’s about consistency. It’s about doing what you said you would, even when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable. It’s taking responsibility when something goes wrong, communicating openly, and finding a way to put it right.
In lawn care, integrity is evident in even the most minor details.
- Giving customers genuine advice about their lawns, even if it means turning down unnecessary work.
- Delivering a service that solves the actual problem rather than masking the symptoms.
- It’s remembering to shut a gate, being careful about where you park your van, and leaving a property in better shape than you found it.
Those little actions say more about a person and a business than any marketing line ever could.
At TruGreen, we maintain the same high standards across our entire franchise network. We’re rebuilding the business on trust — trust between the brand, our franchise owners, and the customers they serve. That trust is earned through daily actions, honest conversations, and promises kept.
When that trust is strong, everything else falls into place. Franchisees feel supported. Customers feel confident. The brand grows in the right way, for the right reasons.
Integrity isn’t complicated, but it does take discipline. It means showing up, doing what’s right, and caring about the outcome. If you’re someone who believes that long-term success comes from doing things correctly, you’d fit right in at TruGreen.
