Aerating

Good soil is the foundation of your customer’s healthy lawn. Soil can become compacted from heavy use such as mowing, walking and other activities on the lawn. This can develop into a problem for any lawn but especially on heavy loam and clay soils.

If the ground is compacted it is harder for air and water to penetrate, which will result in poor grass growth, and discoloured growth or bare patches.  This is where you come in! As part of the lawn care programme that you will offer to your customers, the process of aerating a lawn would be used to loosen the soil allowing nutrients, water and oxygen to penetrate, promoting deeper and stronger root growth.
